Great ‘tips’ from Nicholas Bate. A sample:

  1. Working hard to create a different business will save loads of heartache compared to trying to create a cheaper business.
  2. Create a productivity breakthrough by drawing a vertical time-line on a blank sheet of paper: this represents your working-day. Break every hour into three ‘shifts’ of twenty minutes; so if you are working from 0800 to 1800 you have ten times three or 30 ‘shifts’. Block out any meetings and any breaks. Now schedule tasks (have to do/want to do) into shifts. You’ll be amazed at how much more you will get done.
  3. sharpened pencil, a piece of paper and a chair with a view are all you need to get creative again.
